Email Setup - VHold Account

These are instructions and tips for successfully setting up your email account with the VHold server. Remember that each email client application is slightly different and may require different email settings when you are setting up your new email account.

Start by opening your email client application and create a new POP account. The email account screenshots to the right are from Apple Mail, below you will see the email setup with Microsoft Outlook.

Be sure to enable SMTP Authentication in your E-mail client or you may not be able to send mail. If your e-mail client has trouble using a @ sign in the login, you can use +, :, or % sign instead.

The outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) can be tricky and depending on your ISP, you may get better results sending out email with your ISP's recommended outgoing mail server settings.

Also, remember that when traveling, your outgoing SMTP settings could be rejected because of your different Internet connection and network. You can ask other users what SMTP settings are working for them or just switch to webmail.

Remember that our server requires Password Authentication, not MD5.
